Nick Kyrgios complains of marijuana smell during US Open second round win

As he was preparing to take the court at the US Open this past weekend, tennis fan and long time fan of the sport, Andy Murray, looked at his nose as he removed his tennis mask and wiped his face with a paper towel. The result was that “a very strong smell of marijuana wafted around” as Murray looked into the camera.
What was Murray’s motivation with such behaviour? His motivation, in part, was that it would make him appear “like a dumb fuck”, according to the Huffington Post, by which Murray means he would get the crowd talking.
This was certainly the case for Murray, as it was clear that the crowd was talking about Murray during his matches Saturday. However, even more interesting was the crowd’s reaction when Murray walked by, apparently saying something inaudible to the crowd. Then, when he returned to the court, the crowd went back to talking about Murray, but this time, they were talking about the sound of his breathing during the match.
A quick search for footage of Murray’s post-match breath reveals that the Australian’s breath was also audible, but at only one point during the match, when Murray asked a ball to pass him over a net, then he had the audacity to cough as he did so, to the point that many spectators walked up to him and put their hands over their mouths, while the rest of the crowd went wild with laughter.
As Murray walked back to his chair, people actually cheered. Many times Murray’s tennis attire was accompanied by a “smokebomb”, which he used during his match to simulate having something passed in front of his face. When Murray was shown the footage of him using this tactic in the locker room, he was seen smiling.
It was all very entertaining stuff from the most highly anticipated tennis event in the world, but some of the audience reactions are quite disturbing. At the end of the third set against Tomas Berdych on Friday, before the match was stopped, Murray walked out of the locker room wearing a t-
