In the Land of Too Much Television, This Nerd Is Queen
Like so many other people, I’ve turned into a bit of a show-and-tell in my time. That’s probably part of the reason I started watching the new, unscripted show “The Real Housewives of Orange County.”
The show is basically reality TV with a twist. In the show, the women in the group are celebrities who were part of their own reality show, all the while being forced to keep playing the game because of their bad taste in men.
You know, like you would only be forced to keep doing the same activities with some people while others are forced to do everything with you.
“Orange County,” written by Ryan Murphy, stars some of the most attractive women who have made it big on the television screen, including Bethenny Frankel, Kim Kardashian, and Lisa Vanderpump.
And I am not just saying that as a show-going person. It’s because the series is just so good that it’s making up for its lack of originality (the premise of the series) by doing something special, if not unexpected.
The Real Housewives of Orange County isn’t like any other TV show, so it has to be at least somewhat special in order to stand out against the TV landscape.
And the show is doing that by being totally different every week.
In terms of the characters, there are more than a couple standouts this season. I didn’t want to spoil anyone’s enjoyment of the first couple episodes, though, so I’m going to leave it to you to decide whether you’ll like the characters or not.
In terms of the story, the plot is a little more mysterious, but we’ll get there eventually.
How would you describe the show, for those of you in the know?
It’s like “Housewives,” but with a twist: These women
