An incident that left Donna Vekic, the ex-WWE Diva and current MMA fighter, and her crew badly injuring the team’s car ended up costing her €2000 in repairs, according to a report from Britain’s Sun newspaper.

Vekic, known for her unruly behaviour, was involved in a collision with a taxi driver while returning to her hotel in Guadalajara, which claimed the life of her long-time driver Yurii Kalmychyk. The accident, which occurred at around 4am in December 2011, left both Vekic and Kalmychyk in a potentially serious condition.

In addition to the damage to the taxi’s wheels, the damage included “at least four broken bones”, according to Sun.

Vekic and her mother, who were in separate rooms, were left to pay for the damage to Kalmychyk’s taxi, while Kalmychyk’s death was officially ruled an accident. The family also spent €2000 in emergency medical, food and lodging expenses, a cost she said would have been higher if an ambulance had been called.

In the aftermath of the accident, Donna was fired from her contract with WWE, and she quit the ring in the near-fatal accident.

Vekic, who was a well known figure in both Mexico and the UK, was also involved in a near-fatal incident in Germany in 2003 when her car was struck from behind by a truck. An inquest concluded that the incident was due to a combination of drunk driving and “an unsafe driving technique”.

She has since appeared in several documentaries, telling people how she managed to get drunk and become a professional wrestler.

Her past drug use and general bad-girl persona have been compared to that of a female Hulk Hogan, and after her recent battle against Vitor Belfort she was called The Hulkster.

She was seen drinking on set when she was filming a boxing documentary and also spent time in a rehab centre after a cocaine addiction.
